The sorrow of true love is a great sorrow
And true love parting blackens a bright morrow:
Yet almost they equal joys, since their despair
Is but hope blinded by its tears, and clear
Above the storm the heavens wait to be seen.
But greater sorrow from less love has been
That can mistake lack of despair for hope
And knows not tempest and the perfect scope
Of summer, but a frozen drizzle perpetual
Of drops that from remorse and pity fall
And cannot ever shine in the sun or thaw,
Removed eternally from the sun’s law

Marketing Strategy - Magnum Ice Cream - Billboard

1.       Magnum commercials breaks :

I think that magnum ads in television is creative and unique. It has a strong product image, that shows how she eats magnum ice cream with very enjoying facial expression, it is like she eats a really good ice cream that makes you feel relaxed and the chocolate melts in your mouth makes you forget everything.

2.       Why they have premium segmentation ?

It is because made by good quality of Belgian chocolate that taste so good and that’s why the magnum price is quite expensive if we compare with another WALL’s ice cream products.

3.       Why they choose emotional customer to buy its product ?

The ads that they make are so influential. People who tend to be emotional will directly feel so influencing by the ads , because the ice cream is tempting. It is of course easier for company to target an emotional consumers, because they are easy to be influenced. We can make a perception from the ads that if we eat magnum ice cream,  we will have a better mood and emotional consumer will think that it is good.

4.       Do you think that billboard still exist now?

Yes, I think so. We can found them in the city streets.

5.       Do you still used to advertise your product?

No, this is usually use for an ads of big company that has already has  a huge number of production such as : Telkomsel,XL,Indosat (provider) , Automobile company , Handphone , and etc.

Mostly, a company that has already have a well known brand and/or strong brand image.

That’s another assignment :) 

Marketing Strategy - Supply Chain Strategy

Due to the task of marketing strategy , I’ll post the answer here in my tumblr ,just like my lecturer ask me to do :)

1.      Supply Chain strategy is so important because this strategy is used for operationalize and support our business strategy so they can run well. Business strategy must be executed and typically this is done through the operational components of a company. Supply chain strategy also focuses on driving down operational costs and maximizing efficiencies. Another reason why this strategy is so important is that you can establish how you work with your supply chain partners , like suppliers, distributors, customer’s or further, your customer’s customer. Since we know nowadays that many competitor in the market  , it is better to have a good relationship with them and work together. That’s why,  a well-executed supply chain strategy is important because it is a value creation for the organization.

2.      To develop supply chain strategy, first we need to understand business strategy and clearly understand  how the enterprise choose to compete. Supply chain strategy can be the enabler of the business strategy. If the business strategy is to be the low cost provider, the supply chain strategy should support this. Being able to strategically source parts an attractive price may support both our supply chain strategy and business strategy. The next step is to conduct a detailed, realistic assessment of the capabilities that exist within the organization and even the extended supply chain. We can start to evaluate and scrutinizing our organization’s asset , which one could work better and longer to know how well they support our strategy . Once the evaluation and detailed assessment complete, we can go to the next step, developing an implementation plan . The development of an implementation plan should include activities and tasks, roles, responsibilities, a corresponding timeline, and performance metrics. Establish a sub-team to shepherd the execution and provide project management responsibility to resolve issues and track status. There are two considerations in developing a development plan. First is to cooperate and collaborate with our partners, to seek mutual goals that both organizations can execute on. Second, outsource where appropriate, to evaluating opportunities to outsource areas that are not our core competency, focus, and make our organization does well.

 3. Based on my experience, if I buy from online store, they will directly send it to my home address so it is from supplier to customer without a distributor. If I buy in physical store that sells products that’s not their own product, it is mean that they have a supplier and distributor from it. So , there is not much differences in between physical store and online store, both of them having a similar supply chain strategy but mostly the differences are in their business strategy, since their target market and market share is different.
